PBJ RCA/XLR Interconnect Cable

“Reference-level wire you can afford,” declares audio critic Corey Greenberg in his Stereophile review of Kimber’s PBJ interconnect (volume 16, number 7). PBJ’s elegantly simple design proves the adage, “less is more.”

The highly acclaimed Kimber Kable PBJ interconnect exhibits simple, elegant construction incorporating proven tri-braid field geometry, Varistrand™, Hyper-pure copper conductors and extruded Teflon® dielectric.

In the February 2003 issue of Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, John E. Johnson, Jr. writes, “Kimber PBJ… has been one of my favorites for many years. It is beautifully made, uses Teflon dielectric, is relatively inexpensive, and sounds great.”— Stereophile “Recommended Component”

The highly acclaimed Kimber PBJ interconnect exhibits simple, elegant construction incorporating proven tri-braid field geometry, VariStrand™, Hyper-pure copper conductors and extruded fluorocarbon dielectric. PBJ has become a classic with performance that continues to be unmatched by competing cables. Tonally balanced with clear, articulate highs, accurate midrange, tight extended bass, and three dimensional soundstaging are common descriptions echoed by surprised reviewers and satisfied customers. PBJ single-ended features our Ultraplate™ RCA type connector. WBT® RCA type connectors are also available. PBJ Balanced features “studio grade” XLR type connectors with silver plated contacts.

“Everybody loves PBJ!” This cable has endured for decades because there’s simply no reason to change it. Three high-quality multi-strand wires in individual Teflon jackets that are then braided together keeps the price down and the quality high. The smooth, rich tonal balance and solid imaging are astonishing at this price.

Back in the early 1970s, Ray Kimber discovered that winding his own cable using a specific geometry eliminated much of the noise and interference plaguing audio systems. He created lightweight, flexible designs with an open airy sound, tremendous resolution, and outstanding power that conventional cables lack. While the 40-year-old company’s range of offerings has exponentially grown, Kimber stays true to its original principles. Complex cable geometries are still made in-house in Ogden, Utah, where the cables are hand-terminated by dedicated professionals. Every Kimber Kable deserves to be on your short list.
